On June 1, actor Lee Dong-wook revealed via his fan platform that he had participated in early voting. “I went on the first day right away,” he shared, citing upcoming filming commitments as the reason for voting ahead of the official date.

He praised the process, saying, “It’s much easier — the lines are shorter and the waiting time is less.”

But beyond logistics, Lee Dong-wook stressed the value of civic responsibility. “As I always say, don’t skip voting just because there’s no one you want to vote for,” he wrote. “Voting is about preventing the worst outcome. If there’s no best option, choose the next best. If there’s no next best, then even the lesser evil — anything to avoid the worst.”

This isn’t the first time the A Shop for Killers star has expressed his political stance. In December 2024, Lee posted the lyrics to Scorpions’ Wind of Change, accompanied by the hopeful message: “Spring will surely come.” He also voiced support for protestors, encouraging them to “stay strong” and “go out warmly” during cold-weather rallies.

In April, when the impeachment motion against former President Yoon Suk-yeol passed, Lee responded with subtle but supportive remarks like “Ah, finally spring has come” and “The winter was too long,” signaling his approval of the political change.

Meanwhile, Lee is set to reprise his role in Season 2 of Disney+’s A Shop for Killers. The first season, released in January, followed the action-packed journey of Jung Ji-an (Kim Hye-jun), who becomes entangled in a deadly inheritance left by her uncle Jung Jin-man, portrayed by Lee.
